The Girls Day STEM Fest inspires girls to pursue STEM by providing them fun and challenging activities to engage in together. The hope is that the participating girls will see STEM in a new light that will spur them to enjoy challenges and motivate them to become innovative women of their time.

Duration: 2.5 hours | For Parents of STEM exCEL Students
The Coach-the-Coach Robotics program is designed for parents of students who have a passion for robotics, who are interested in being involved in competitive robotics. In this event, parents will be taught how to prepare for FIRST LEGO League (FLL) tournaments and how to coach an FLL team of their own. In addition, participating students will learn how to properly develop and program Lego Mindstorms EV3 robots to complete challenges you would see at FLL tournaments, while reinforcing the teamwork and merit judges consider during competitions. By the end of the event, both the students and parents will have the knowledge to confidently start their journey within FLL competitions. Please no more than one student, grades 4-8, per registered parent.

We supply the scenario and rules, and the students use game design, programming and engineering concepts in Minecraft to create something unique that accomplishes that mission. Students will have access to Minecraft, MCreator and Redstone to complete their projects. There will be instructors present to help, teach, motivate, advise and bug test throughout the event, so students of any skill level will be well supported in their process. Students will also have time to playtest and experience each other's creations before the end of the event. At the end, students will leave with all their project files, along with the skills to continue modifying Minecraft on their own.

STEM exCEL Electronics offers a good first step to learning the fundamentals of electrical engineering, invention and innovation. This event teaches students basic computer programming, circuit power distribution and wiring by working to complete projects using breadboards, wires, switches, LEDs and more. The aim of this event is to introduce students to electronics in a challenging and hand-on way, while sparking their interest to continue learning advanced electronic principles.
